The Cottonwood Runners team offers a 13 week training program. We will help you train weekly so that you are ready for race day in October. In addition to running, walking, and biking together we will also be spending time reading God’s word together.  His word is our very foundation, and we pray that you will not only be built up physically but also spiritually.

It is our desire to offer distances for all abilities and levels. It is our hope and prayer that everyone who is able to can easily participate, including families, friends and small groups. We will offer training for the following distances: 5K, Half Marathon and 20 mile Bike Tour. (Please note, Saturday morning trainings meeting on the Cottonwood campus, is a minimum age limit of 14 years of age to participate).

The only registration fee will be any event you choose to participate in the Long Beach Marathon. There will not be any additional registration fees to join us on Saturday training. Even if you choose to come out just to run/walk/bike & hangout with us on Saturday and not join us on race day, we welcome you!

There is no fundraising minimum, as mentioned before our focus will be creating connections and building community. On our website you will find a Pushpay link. There you will have the option to make a donation as well as encourage family and friends to donate to our cause.

We are excited to announce that this year’s Run(Cycle) to help the Hurting campaign will benefit those who are in need of counseling services and cannot afford it. The proceeds from Our donations will provide services for those in need. Thank you for partnering with us as we help the hurting in this unprecedented time.

The Long Beach Marathon race weekend is October 9-10th. Our team will participate in the 5k on Saturday, October 9th, and the Half Marathon and Bike Tour will take place on Sunday, October 10th. You have the opportunity to run/walk/bike together as a team at the starting line.

Please note, in order to practice social distancing, there will be a rolling start to avoid overcrowding at the starting line.

Yes, if you register for an event, you will receive a medal from Long Beach Marathon!

This year we are running to raise funds to help the Balm of Gilead Ministries provide sponsorships for those in need of Christian counseling. The Balm of Gilead Ministries is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization. They are dedicated to ministering to God’s hurting children and have a burden and a passion to see the living God of the universe break chains of bondage and set captives free one heart at a time through counseling and other resources and services The Balm of Gilead Ministries
